Freelance writer
Steve has been a journalist for over 16 years. Along with
being a contributing editor for Men’s Health, he’s written about the
intrusion of texting on dates for The Boston Globe Magazine, for Natural
Health, Philadelphia, The Old Farmer’s Almanac, The Robb Report, and Women’s
Health, on subjects including medicine, relationships, money, work, stress,
travel and fitness. The reporting is serious and solid, but using his comedy
skill, Steve takes dry material, finds new perspectives and presents information
that’s useful, accessible and engaging.
For Men’s Health, he’s written What
If I Did?, looking at the consequences of dropping a penny of the
Empire State Building, making a
citizen’s arrest, and objecting at a wedding; Do It or Screw It,
uncovering the truth about seeing
the dentist twice a year, throwing out expired milk and changing the oil every
3,000 miles; and Don’t
Let ‘Em Drive You Crazy, about easily handling tedious situations,
such as plunging a toilet, running into your ex at wedding and ending a
conversation with a boring person. Steve's also interviewed Tim Russert about
how to answer questions; Chris
Berman about how to stay at one job; Michael
Dell about how to make a start-up company thrive; and Chris Isaak about how
to be cool. And for the good of all humankind, Steve has determined 18
Things a Grown Man Should Never Have.
Ignore it at your peril.
Steve makes his deadlines, does any needed changes quickly,
and at least gives the appearance of tolerating editors. He lives and works in
the Boston area.
